Major General Armitage Twigg fought his last battle at Orphans Creek where
he single-handedly kept an entire Rat brigade at bay, with an empty carbine
and bayonet, whilst allowing his bloodied troops to escape to safety.
For this heroic deed, he was awarded the Golden Beak and Claws, posthumously.
